Frequently asked questions:

I have seen this medication cheaper online, why should I choose you?

Patients should always have a choice of where they wish to purchase their medication as long as it is from a regulated reputable pharmacy or registered practitioner.  What I provide is not a product but a service where I am with you every step of the way. My consultations are virtual and visual where we go through the information including injection rather than supplying you with a diagram. I am accessible seven days of the week and hours that extend beyond 5 pm supporting you every step of the way. I can also refer you should you need lifestyle and dietary advice to reputable dietitians who are able to facilitate your journey in a healthy way. In essence, you are the nucleus of my care.  In addition to the medication, you will receive complimentary accessories to enable you to administer your medication effectively and dispose of your sharps safely.

What if I sign up for the clinically proven weight loss program and find it cheaper elsewhere, do you price match or can I get a refund?

The clinically proven weight loss program is designed with you in mind to provide you with a prescription-only medication that is only for you in accordance with prescribing and safety guidelines. However, the cost of the program is not only related to the medication but an overall service with complete support and aftercare beyond office hours, seven days a week dedicated to you.

It is important that you research well and choose a provider who meets your individual needs before committing to the service as this medication is not subject to refund.

Do you charge for your consultations?

All consultation for all-out services excluding some skincare online services are charged at £50 which are nonrefundable but redeemable against the cost of the treatment.

How long does the clinically proven weight loss saxenda pen last?

Saxenda is a 3ml pre-filled injection pen. A single pen will last 17 days at the initial use and the first full pack of five pens will last six weeks.

The dose of  Saxenda is gradually increased in 0.6mg intervals until the maintenance dose is reached at 3mg daily. This is the dose at which you will continue to take Saxenda if you wish to. Most people do remain on the maintenance dose.

When you have passed the 4-week dose-titration period and have achieved the maintenance dose, a 3ml pre-filled injection pen lasts 6 days and a pack of five pens lasts 30 days.

Do I have to increase the dose every week?

Simply NO, if you experience adequate appetite suppression on a lower dose then it is ok to remain on that dose. Using a lower dose is likely to reduce the side effects. You have the option to increase the dose at a later date if you find that the appetite suppression is not sufficient.

How long should I remain on this clinically proven weight loss program?

There is no fixed period of treatment. This where the consultation and the continued support play a vital role as I am able to assess and decide together if this medication remains the best option for you with the best and safest outcome.  Generally maintenance is viable and possible over a period of 12 weeks if you demonstrate weight loss of 5% when used in conjunction with a calorie-controlled diet and regular exercise.

Which areas of my body do I inject?

Inject your dose under the skin (this is called a subcutaneous injection) in your stomach area (abdomen), upper leg (thigh), or upper arm. Do not inject into a vein or muscle. During our video consultation, I will go through with you how to inject and how the select your dose so you can visually experience it.

What is the best time to administer Saxenda?

Saxenda can be administered at any time of the day at a time that is suitable for you. However, it is recommended that you maintain the same time of day or near to it for consistency and a better outcome.

Will I have side effects and if so what can I do about it?

All medication will have the potential of side effects

However, nausea is the most common side effect experienced at the beginning of treatment. This will normally subside as your body becomes used to the medication. An increase in side effects may be experienced when the dose is increased but this should also settle in a few day’s time

Some helpful tips that you may try should you experience nausea.

  • Eat bland, low-fat foods, for example, toast and rice
  • Eat foods with high liquid content such as soups
  • Get as much fresh air as possible
  • Avoid lying down immediately after eating

Pens discard the pens after 30 days even if they still have Saxenda left in them. Do not. Frozen Saxenda must not be used and discarded safely by taking it to your local high street chemist who operates a patient medication return scheme.

I will continue to support you throughout your journey and if you need to, I am able to refer you to a dietitian, However, we will go through in-depth consultation and constant reviews to determine the most suitable option for you.  However, what is important is to find something that works for you. Follow a low-calorie well-balanced diet along with an increased exercise regime to see the best results. Check  The NHS website for useful information.

Can I stop if I want to?

There are no specific guidelines to cease your Saxenda course however, I do recommend that you continue to maintain exercise and a calorie-controlled diet as Saxenda is designed to weight loss rather than a benefit in isolation.
